Assemblies

 
Assemblies are predefined groups of Items that can be dragged and dropped into estimates in Initiatives, Estimates, and Work Orders. Numeric values and formulas can be added to assemblies to calculate quantities and placeholders for variables to be entered at runtime are supported.

  • Assembly ID Field - Read only. A numeric ID assigned by the system.
  • Description Field - A description of the assembly.
  • Assembly Group Field - This determines where the assembly is found in the assemblies tree.
  • The formula linked to the assembly. The formula selected here determines what variables are available to select in the Quantity field, below.
  • Defaults Section Fields - Data in these fields are automatically added each time you use the assembly in a record. The selected template project can determine the values available in the Cost Code, Phase, Location, WBS, and Company fields.

To build an assembly, drag and drop items into it and associate each item with a quantity. Quantities can be fixed numbers or variables. See Formulas for information about variables.
 
  • Item - Read only. The number of the selected item.
  • Description - This defaults from the selected item but may be edited.
  • Default Cost - read only. The default cost of the selected item.
  • UOM - Read only. The unit of measure of the selected item.
  • Quantity - This is either a fixed quantity or a variable.  To enter a fixed quantity select "<Fixed Quantity>" from the dropdown list and then type a number in the text field that appears. To enter a variable select it from the dropdown list. The variables that appear in the list are determined by the formula selected in the header.
  • Notes - Notes about the item in the context of the assembly.
  •
