Production

Production Records track units of work completed within a project. If a Production record is linked to a contract or commitment the schedule of values from the linked record can be loaded to form the basis of production. Production records are sequential - use the Create Next button to generate the next record and automatically aggregate the total quantity produced. Data from Production records can be used to update Forecasts, Requisitions, and Progress Invoices.

  • Scheduled Quantity Field - If the line is linked to a contract or commitment this field is read only.
  • Current Quantity Field - Enter the quantity produced during the time period of the record. This number can be positive or negative and, while you are allowed to enter any number here, it is usually less than the Scheduled Quantity minus the Total Quantity.
  • Rate Field - This defaults to the unit cost or unit price from the contract or change order but may be edited.
  • Total Field - This defaults to Current Quantity times Rate but may be edited.
  • Total Quantity Field - Read only. This field is the sum of the Current Quantity field from this record and all other records in the series that do not have a status of "Rejected" or "Withdrawn".
  • Contract Field - If a contract is selected in the Production Header Fields this field is locked at that contract. If not, you may select one here. Note that selecting a contract here, unlike selecting one in the header, does not transfer lines from the contract into the table.
  • Commitment Field - If a commitment is selected in the header this field is locked at that commitment. If not, you may select one here. Note that selecting a commitment here, unlike selecting one in the header, does not transfer lines from the commitment into the table.
  • Done Checkbox - The default is unchecked. Lines that are checked are not rolled over to the new production record if the Create Next button is used.
