Escalations are periodic changes in the amount of a lease charge. Escalations can be a percentage of a base charge or a fixed currency amount and are processed using the Lease Administrator Escalations Tab.
Index Fields
Index Field. If the selected Index is "-- Fixed % --" the percentage field is unlocked and may be edited. If the selected Index is not "-- Fixed % --" the percentage field is locked and is calculated as Next Index minus Previous Index.
The dropdown list includes "-- Fixed Amount --" plus all of the charges on the Leases Charges Tab that have an amount that is not empty. If the selected Base is "-- Fixed Amount --" the currency field is editable. If the selected Base is not "-- Fixed Amount --" this field is locked and displays the amount of the selected charge.
If the box is checked there is no lower threshold for the escalation. If the box is unchecked a currency field appears:
Type a currency value in the field. If the calculated escalation is lower than the number in this field the calculated value will be ignored and the value in this field will be used instead.
If the box is checked there is no upper threshold for the escalation. If the box is unchecked a currency field appears:
Type a currency value in the field. If the calculated escalation is higher than the number in this field the calculated value will be ignored and the value in this field will be used instead.
If this box is checked the escalated charge will appear as a new line in the Leases Charges Tab after the escalation is processed in the Lease Administrator. If this box is unchecked the base charge amount will be updated with the escalated value after the escalation is processed.
